Dan McVaugh, Chief strategy Officer/coo

Dan is an original founder of Centerline Solutions, having helped oversee the merger creating the company in 2011. A strategic thinker and thought leader, Dan has more than two decades of leadership experience in wireless communications. At Centerline, Dan oversees all business development, corporate strategy and marketing functions. Leveraging his strong grasp of the wireless network business and the technology that underpins these networks, Dan provides expertise and guidance in identifying acquisition and partnership opportunities.

Prior to Centerline, Dan was founder and co-owner of ATECS, a Colorado-based provider of wireless engineering and business consulting services to the telecommunications and data networking industries. Dan was with ATECS from its launch in 2000 until 2011, when ATECS evolved into what is now Centerline Solutions. Dan’s project work at ATECS was extensive – among other things, he oversaw the growth planning analysis for a major GSM operator’s seven-state territory. He also wrote financial models, business plans, and technology strategies for several startup wireless operators and developed unique strategies for operating and maintaining large nationwide wireless networks.

Before starting his own business, Dan was director of the wireless broadband division at Qwest Wireless and US West Wireless, helping to determine how wireless communications could be used for data transmission and wireless connectivity. As part of that, Dan managed the strategic and product development effort to use wireless broadband data communications to extend the US West/Qwest DSL network to suburban and residential areas.

In the early days of the wireless industry, Dan was with Sprint Spectrum (Sprint PCS) where he oversaw deployment of the company’s wireless network in Colorado. There he spearheaded the wireless engineering strategies behind the creation of Sprint PCS and its nationwide wireless deployment.

Dan holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis in RF fields and waves, from the University of Colorado-Boulder. A Colorado native, Dan enjoys hunting, fishing and snowboarding. Married with two children, he’s an active volunteer in youth-related programs, including Colorado Youth at Risk.
